HERE are the first official pictures of One Direction minus Zayn Malik – as The Sun bagged a world exclusive interview with the four-piece band.

The lads candidly confessed last night they were “gutted” by the 22-year-old quitting.
But speaking in Dubai as they took their world tour to the Middle East they vowed to continue “stronger than ever”.

Louis Tomlinson, 24, scoffed at gossip Zayn’s departure heralded a break-up of the band – declaring: “All four of us are 100 per cent committed to staying in One Direction. We want to thank the fans for being so incredible during this time.”

Liam Payne, 21 confessed the past few weeks had been “probably the toughest” in the band’s five-year history. He confirmed: “We’re gutted Zayn chose to leave.
“But now after a few performances as a four-piece, we feel confident and determined to carry on stronger than ever.”

He was echoed by Niall Horan, 21, who said the band was now on a mission to make their worldwide army of loyal fans “proud”.

Harry Styles, 21, also, unveiled good news – the boys are already working on a fifth album.
He described it as a tribute to how the fans had buoyed them – saying: “A huge thank you to them for everything they’ve done for us. All the love to them.”

The lads’ upbeat interview comes after Zayn’s departure during the On The Road Again Tour saw them take to the stage just three days later – and go down a storm.
The Johannesburg concert was one of three in South Africa that saw them smash the record for crowds flocking to performances.
They wowed a total of 185,000 – beating previous record holders U2 and Michael Jackson.

*LIAM: “It’s been a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago. We’re gutted that Zayn chose to leave, but now after a few performances as a four piece, we’re feeling confident and are determined to carry on stronger than ever.”

*NIALL: “We’re looking forward to seeing all our fans on tour this year. The fans are amazing. They are so loyal. All we want to do is make them proud and return their faith in us with a brilliant tour and an amazing new album.”

*LOUIS: “All four of us are 100 per cent committed to staying in One Direction and we want to thank the fans for being so incredible during this time. We have so much more we want to achieve. Our gigs in South Africa were some of the biggest the country has ever seen, so it’s exciting for us to keep breaking records for British music worldwide.”

*HARRY: “It’s very exciting to be working on our fifth album, it shows how incredible the fans have been. A huge thank you to them for everything they’ve done for us. All the love to them.”
