One Direction have announced the title of their debut single, What Makes You Beautiful, and the digital release date, 11 September. A physical version of the track will be released a day later.

Bundled together with the B-side, Na Na Na, the tracks are already ranked No 2 on the iTunes album chart based on pre-orders alone, ahead of Adele but behind Now That’s What I Call Music Vol 79.

The X Factor runners-up previously described What Makes You Beautiful as “perfect”; the track, which is said to have an Example/Calvin Harrisvibe, will get its first play on Radio 1 on Wednesday 10 August. The video was shot in LA last month.

And Cher Lloydhas revealed she wouldn’t be averse to recording with the One Direction boys. “We’d have to, you know, talk about all sorts of issues… But I think it would work you know. Get a rapper on your track and you’re buzzin’ aren’t ya?” she said. “Gives the song a bit of a boost.”

The Swagger Jagger star was said to be touched that the guys had given her so much love on Twitter, encouraging all their fans to support her single, which is on track to top the charts on Sunday.
