We caught up with One Direction at the Carphone Warehouse on Oxford Street for the launch of their Nokia phones today, and after we'd been given a disappriving look for leaving a bit of lipgloss on Harry's cheek and managed to get them all around the same table for a few minutes, they gave us a little insight into how they manage to bag themselves some phone numbers when a damsel catches their eye.

"A tried and tested technique is jokes," said Louis, when he'd stopped sitting on Zayn's lap and jiggling around.

"Or just ask for them!"

"Yeah," added Zayn. "You wanna know the honest answer? What I find works is generally just ask them for their number, straight up."

"But if you’ve not spoken to them before and you just go up to them like ‘Can I have your number?’ that's a bit weird..." said Louis. Always quick to chip in!

"Liam has his own technique," said Harry. "Liam just goes up to them and says, 'I don’t know if you’ve seen my twitter, but I’m the REAL Liam Payne,' and they just go “079…”

"We used to phone girls off twitcam, remember?" asked Louis.

"Just call them off an unknown and be like 'Hey'..."

"But then my number got out!" Liam protested, only to be shot down by a very firm Harry Styles, telling him "Yeah, I leaked it."
