1D World in Heat Magazine - ARTICLE

One Direction have opened a pop-up store in New York, and heat was there, naturally. They thought their new venture might get a bit of attention, but even the store manager was shocked by the crowds flocking in just to buy 1D onesies, notepads and hats. The pop-up shop, on the corner of 33rd St and 7th Avenue, was only supposed to be there for two weeks, but after 7.000 fans flooded the shop on the first day alone, the band may want to think twice about extending the lease. ''The whole store was just filled; every little nock and cranny,'' manager Michael Drinkwater tells heat. ''We had to close the store yesterday because it got out of hand- the girls were screaming because they thought the band was going to appear.''
And when the store eventually closes, the fans' extreme devotion will live on in the thousands of graffiti messages scrawled over every surface.''
[Recordlabel] Sony handed out pens to the girls to write on the wall, but they moved on to our pillars, too. Basically, they ruined everything.''
Michael jokes, ''There's some very explicit messages there! We try to cover them up.'' One of the most popular items, it appears, are the cardboard stand ups (£18 each). ''It's between Harry and Niall, who they like best,'' Michael says. ''In New York they really like Niall - it's the Irish connection.''
