Camryn about what it's like to tour with One Direction

At only 13 years old, pop singer Camryn sure has made a name for herself. After all, she's only opened up on tour for one of the biggest artists of 2012: One Direction! She recently stopped by the J-14 office to chat with us about how the opportunity came to be and what it's really like backstage with the 1D guys! Read on for more!
J-14: How did you come to be One Direction's opening act?
Camryn: I brought One Direction to my manager's eyes last year when I asked to go to one of their concerts when they were on tour with Big Time Rush. A month later, my manager texted me and was like, 'Hey. Call me. It's about One Direction.' And he asked me if I wanted to open for them for seven of their shows in May. After that, they asked us back recently for two shows, and I was so excited. They are amazing. I'm not star-struck to their faces, but inside I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!'
J-14: What is it like to tour with them?
Camryn: They're all such nice guys. It's amazing just to see how they all perform with each other on stage -- you can just tell that they are doing it because they love it. I talked to them sometimes when I would see them in the hallway. Everyone is super busy backstage so it was a little hectic, but when I see them, we wish each other luck and talk about the show. When I do talk to them, we just talk normally.
J-14: Spill! Who's your favorite member?
Camryn: I like Harry and Niall. Before I actually met them, I thought Zayn and Harry were the cutest. Then I met them -- and they're all so much cuter in person! I didn't know what to do with myself. I always spoke to Harry, Liam, and Niall. I guess I had the most communication with them.

Camryn: I have some new songs, so they can expect to hear them in my show -- and an exciting performance if they ever get to catch me in one. If not, I'll be releasing them to YouTube. It's been a pretty wild journey since the beginning.
