Styles claims his success with the opposite sex is down to being in 1D...

One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles has admitted he's got his new found fame to thank for being a hit with the ladies.

The 17-year old, who has previously been romantically linked to TV host Caroline Flack and The X Factor singer Amelia Lily, claims if he wasn't part of 1D he wouldn't be as popular with the opposite sex.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Styles revealed: "If I wasn’t in the band I reckon I’d be a virgin.”

It seems the rest of the band are also proving to be popular with the girls - so much so, thatZayn Malik has been fighting them off - even when the likes of US singer Alexis Jordan is interested.

Louis Tomlinson told The Mirror: "This one’s good. Alexis Jordan... she, er, thinks Zayn’s quite hot. They were texting but I don’t think Zayn was very interested.”

Malik added: "She messaged me a few times, yeah. But it’s the distance thing. She’s all the way in America – it’s not gonna work.”
