The Xtra Factor presenter told Heat that he knew exactly what actually happened between his co-host and the 17-year-old boyband singer.
Asked if he was jealous of the snog, Murs said: "No! Whatever happens in Caroline's love life is up to her. We're friends and we enjoy working together, but that's as far as it goes.
"I know what happened [between Flack and Styles] and it's been blown out of proportion."
Styles was spotted having a "big passionate snog" with 32-year-old Flack at London's W Hotel last month. Styles had previously admitted to having a crush on the TV presenter.
Flack was later said to be embarrassed about the incident and reportedly told friends that she is "trying to forget about it".
X Factor judge and Styles's One Direction bandmates have since mocked the pair on air for their embrace.
Of whether he and Flack are encouraged to flirt with one another, Murs added: "Well, it's obviously not a bad thing, but regardless of that, we're both flirtatious characters, so I think that it would've always been like that."
