The 'Gotta Be You' singer gets a message of congratulations from sister and band mate Liam.

One Direction star Harry Styles has successfully passed his driving test today (30th December).

Followers of the singer had been tweeting good luck messages all morning to the singer on Twitter before his sister Gemma announced the good news.

Awkward when your younger sibling passes their driving test before you... Well done @Harry_Styles! (a.k.a. My new chauffeur. ), she tweeted.

Shortly after, Liam also took to his Twitter page to offer his praise to his band mate.

He tweeted: "Massive well done harry!!!!!! Errmmmm Can I have a lift mate?"

Earlier this month Harry told Capital FM that it was his new year's resolution to pass the test, and now it looks as though he has achieved his goal before the end of 2011.

Meanwhile, One Direction are currently in the middle of their UK tour and will perform next at Bournemouth's International Centre on the 3rd January 2012.

One Direction star Zayn Malik was caught dancing around his room naked by his cleaner over the festive period.

Band mate Louis Tomlinson recalled the incident to the Daily Mirror explaining that both Zayn and the cleaner got a big shock.

He revealed: "It was hilarious. Zayn had his radio on full blast and was dancing around to Night Fever totally naked when his cleaner walked in on him. She walked in on him fully naked, properly giving it some!"

"But the funny thing is, she didn’t say, 'Sorry' and walk straight out. No, she said 'Sorry', glanced down and just stared. She was pretty shocked. She gasped and said 'Sorry, sorry' a few times and only then did she leave – Zayn kinda yelled too," he added.

The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Pope has admitted that she's got a crush on Liam Payne from One Direction.


The reality star reckons that Liam is good looking and wouldn't mind going on a double-date with Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack and Harry Styles.

"There is a really good looking one in One Direction - Liam! I would love to go out on a date with him," Lauren told the Daily Star. "Maybe me and Caroline could have a little double date together. Her with Harry, me with Liam. There could be a One Direction cameo in TOWIE."

Lauren, 29, used to date Kirk Norcross and there was a seven-year age gap - less than half of the 15 years between Harry and Caroline.

"Me and my friend keep joking and calling each other Caroline because we go out with younger men," she said. "But I say 'go Caroline', because Harry is fit. If I was a bloke I'd fancy her because she's just herself and comfortable with that - and I love her hair."

Talking about her failed relationship with Kirk, Lauren admitted that the age difference was noticeable.

"He was too young for me. He was 23 and I was 29. I think you start to notice the age difference when you get to that point where you want to get married and have kids," she explained.

Harry Styles might have a penchant for older women, but he still finds some cougars a little bit frightening.

The 17-year-old One Direction singer gets accosted wherever he goes.

'I was in the park the other day and a woman ran up to me and asked for my autograph,' reveals Harry.

'She handed me a pen and I asked her if she had a piece of paper.

'She just looked at me and got out her boobs.'

But Harry - who insists he refused the request - says the experience hasn't put him off being famous.

He ditched his A-levels after winning a place in 1D and loves being recognised.

'What 17-year-old boy wouldn't like this? It still feels really weird, but it's a lot of fun,' Harry tells Fabulous.

Just before Harry, 17, was due to get up on stage and sing Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder, he began vomiting and coughing up blood. Things got so bad, his parents had to rush him to hospital. ‘I was really ill and I kept being sick just before I went on The X Factor,' recalls Harry. ‘I remember I kept throwing up and then I got really bad and I started coughing up blood.' Lucky for Harry and millions of 1D fans, he completed his audition after being allowed to leave hospital. But he left without a diagnosis. ‘They discharged me,' says Harry. ‘But to this day I don't know what it was.'

ONE Direction star Niall Horan has been taking it down a gear to spend time with his brother and parents in Ireland at Christmas. Niall was one of the major success stories of 2011 and shot to fame when he was grouped together on the X Factor with the other members of the boy band. The Mullingar teen now has thousands of screaming fans following One Direction's progress as they embark on a multi-nation tour. Niall's brother Greg (24) said that they were looking forward to having him home over the Christmas period but said it would be a low-key affair. "We didn't have a very exciting Christmas Day. We spent it in our mother's during the day and then with our father for the evening," he said. "We're getting on a bit. The excitement has gone out of it. "Myself and Niall bought each other presents. But we're not into big gifts and we wouldn't be insulted if we didn't get anything." Greg said that their traditional Irish Christmas will bring Niall back down to earth after a whirlwind year. "We have to keep his head down," he said. "Ireland is in a recession so we know what it's like." Charts Greg said that he and his family have no fears for Niall living in London at such a young age. And he will always remember his Irish fans. "Niall thinks that Ireland got him through X Factor. Ireland kept the band at number one in the charts," he said. "When they came home they got such a reception. They were in Maynooth the other week and all the girls wanted to do was cry." "He is loving everything about the Irish fans," Greg added. "He said to me when he was on the X Factor, 'I didn't doubt, but now I know, that the Irish fans are there for us'."

AFTER weeks of speculation fuelled by tantalising Twitter threads, it’s official – Harry “Babyface” Styles and Caroline “Cougar” Flack are an item…

The One Direction singer finally confirmed showbiz’s worst-kept secret, when he revealed that he and 32-year-old Xtra Factor host Caroline are “really happy together”.

Well, sort of…

Within seconds of making his declaration of love while beaming like the child he is at Christmas, Harry backtracked with lightning velocity.

Panicking, stuttering and looking awkward, he twice declared: “I don’t want to talk about my personal life.”

When we ploughed on regardless, asking Harry if he had met Caroline’s family yet, he tried to change the subject – joking that he was secretly dating bandmate Louis Tomlinson.

Then loyal Zayn Malik chipped in with: “He’s already said he didn’t want to discuss his personal life.”

Which made us feel about 12 – or, indeed, Harry’s age. But the floppy-haired 17-year-old is clearly one happy chappy at the moment.

Seven weeks into his fledging romance with Caroline, there was no keeping the beam off his gorgeous, dimpled face.

And he was still smiling as she waved him off on the band’s UK tour – although she appeared to wipe a
tear from her eye. Bless.

We caught up with Harry and the rest of One Direction before they took to the stage for their storming gig in Wolverhampton last night.

Chatting to the lads in their backstage dressing room – which came complete with a sauna and jacuzzi – Harry said: “I don’t really want to talk about my private life but I’m happy. We’re good friends.”

When we complimented him on being a little too media-trained, he turned to his publicist and exclaimed: “Well trained. Woo! You hear that?”

So, there we have it: Harry and Caroline, game on.

Ever since the rumours of a romance started circulating, “Styck” – Styles and Flack, geddit? Oh, never mind – have got some, well, stick, over their 17-year age gap. And One Direction’s mentor, Simon Cowell, isn’t helping matters. The X Factor guru recently sent the boys some £200 bottles of champagne – well, all of them bar Harry who is still underage.

Liam Payne revealed: “When we did the charity single, Simon sent us all some amazing bottles of Dom Perignon champagne each.

“He sent Harry some alcohol-free champagne… Simon caters for everyone’s needs. He really is a good guy.”

Keen to get his own back, Harry joked that the lads were sending Simon, 52, some colouring books and crayons for Christmas.

Louis added that they planned to send him some condoms, too.

Also going in the multi-millionaire’s Christmas stocking are some signed 1D dolls.

Harry is not the only member of the band who is off the market.

Liam is loved up with his dancer girlfriend Danielle Peazer, and Louis, who turns 20 tomorrow, is happy with his long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder.

That just leaves Niall Horan and Zayn single – with Niall admitting that he would love to have a girlfriend in 2012.

One Direction have revealed they take inspiration from boy bands like Take That when getting ready to head out on stage.

'Gotta Be You' singer Louis Tomlinson says all five boys imitate each of their heroes to some extent when they perform live.

"When we are on stage sometimes we think we are someone else, or put ourselves in somebody else's shoes," Louis explained. "Liam [Payne] is a Take That boy. So he thinks he's Gary Barlow.

"When you see somebody do something on stage I'll replicate it and imagine I'm looking at me," Liam admitted to the Daily Star. "It's weird. There's loads I steal from other people."

Harry Styles added that he often looks to Coldplay front man Chris Martin for inspiration for his on-stage antics.

He said: "I love Christ Martin. Sometimes I do his jig on stage."

One Direction have explained why they each have one Haribo sweet before heading out on stage, and claim it is their version of doing a shot.

The 'Gotta Be You' stars kicked off their first headlining tour across the UK on Wednesday (23rd December) and revealed the unusual tradition this week.

"We do the sweets like they're drink. We 'cheers them'," Louis Tomlinson explained. "It's very strange but it's for good luck."

However, 18 year-old Niall Horan is worried he won't be able to take part in group indulgence after being fitted with track-track style braces on Tuesday.

"I've just had a brace on the week so I won't be eating sweets," Niall told The Sun. "It's a bit sore so I can only eat soup. Maybe I could swallow it in one?"

One Direction will perform their second consecutive concert at Manchester's O2 Apollo tonight.

NIALL Horan from One Direction will need his Christmas dinner liquidised after having painful "train track" braces fitted on his teeth.

The Irish lad had the procedure done on Tuesday, which meant he couldn't join in his band's pre-gig ritual in Wolverhampton the next day.

The lads have taken to eating a Haribo sweet before each show.

Niall said: "I've just had a brace on this week so I won't be eating sweets. It's a bit sore so I can only eat soup. Maybe I could swallow it in one?"

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson has come up with the weird technique to help psych up the lad up before they head out in front of thousands of screaming girls.

You can guarantee once Harry Styles turns 18 in February they will think of a different way to toast their gigs.
